Create Kind Karma. How to Cleanse, Clear and Charge your Crystals.

Learning about healing crystals is part of Kind Karma's Mission Program called, "TALK" - Teach All Loving Kindness. TALK is about teaching others how to connect with their own innate Loving Kindness and building a global community of Kind Karma® Creators.

TALK is a call-to-action and its aim is to teach people specific methods of how to choose kindness in their lives, and to spread Kind Karma® to those with whom they share the world. The use of crystals is a healing method and spiritual tool to assist in this calling, as it plants the seeds of positive change through holistic health, harmony and high vibration.

Cleansing, Clearing and Charging Your Crystals

"Take gentle care of your crystals! All crystals are highly sensitive and have the ability to absorb, filter and transmit energy." - Dean Telano

Most crystals need to be energetically cleansed before and after every use. If crystals are not routinely cleansed, the crystal will become overloaded, which reduces its effectiveness and may cause it to transfer imbalances into your aura or personal magnetic energy field. When a crystal is overloaded with low vibrational energy it may appear dull, or even split, crack or break apart.

You should cleanse, clear and charge your crystals right after you purchased or received it. If you use crystals for healing purposes, grids, layouts or feng shui, they should be cleansed and and recharged after each use. Crystals that are used to cleanse your environment or protect your space, should be cleansed periodically. If wear your crystals as jewelry or malas, be sure you cleanse them daily or weekly, especially after they start feeling a bit dull.

It’s good to remember, that crystals are like batteries and can only hold so much negative charge. This is one reason why it’s so important to cleanse and recharge them. To cleanse, clear and charge your crystals, choose one of the following methods depending on the crystal's size, structure, type or even color.

  • Running Water: Hold your crystals under running water (rain water or flowing natural water is best, tap water would work) and imagine all the negativity flowing out of your crystal as little minus signs ( - ) and going down the drain. Then imagine your crystal being filled with loads of positive energy ("little plus signs" or "smiley emoji's" will do). Affirmation: “I wash away all negativity with the Love, Compassion and Kindness of White Light.” Streams, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, rainfalls, dewdrops or snow are powerful cleansing options (use caution with some crystals).

  • Moonlight: A crystal favorite! Place them outside during a full moon, or even on a windowsill. Bring them in the next morning and they will be “singing” to you! You can also use the moon cycle or phases: place the crystal outside each evening at dusk - retrieve it before sunrise. This would be repeated for 28 consecutive days.

  • Sunlight: Light is the essential currency of crystal healing therefore cleansing crystals this way works well. Leave your crystals in sunlight for a couple of hours. Be sure the crystal is not sensitive to sunlight. The Yang of the sunlight can bring balance to the Yin of the crystal (use caution with some crystals).

"If you know the Source Code - the language of the crystals - you can communicate with the Spiritual Essence that lives inside each crystal." - Dean Telano

  • Smudging: Smudge your healing crystals with the purifying smoke of dried herbs or incense. This method can be used for cleansing one crystal or a handful of crystals. Only burn the herbs for the length of time that it takes to smudge your crystals. A well-ventilated place often makes a huge difference for your own health. Popular choices include sage, juniper, cedar, sweet grass and palo santo. Other options include: cypress, bay leaf, fennel, mugwort, mullien, orris root, pin, hemlock, spruce, uvi ursi, yerba santa, and fresh tobacco.
